Special attention should be paid to the following points when using aluminum die-casting molds:
1. The application of mold cooling system. Mold cooling water, when used correctly, not only extends the service life of the mold, but also improves production efficiency. In actual production, we often overlook its importance, and the operators also try to save time. If it's too troublesome to connect, they don't need to connect the cooling water pipe. Some companies even choose not to use cooling water when customizing molds to save costs, which has caused serious consequences. Mold materials are generally made from specialized mold steel that has undergone various treatments. Even the best mold steel has its limits of application, such as temperature. When the mold is in use, if the mold temperature is too high, it is easy to cause early cracks on the surface of the mold core. Some molds even have large areas of cracks before exceeding 2000 mold cycles. Even during production, the mold core has changed color due to the high temperature of the mold. After measurement, it even reached over 400 degrees Celsius. At such temperatures, when exposed to the cold state of the release agent, it is easy for cracks to appear, and the products produced are also prone to deformation, pulling, sticking, and other issues. When using mold cooling water, the use of release agents can be greatly reduced, so that operators will not use release agents to lower the temperature of the mold. Its benefits lie in effectively extending the life of the mold, saving the die-casting processing cycle, improving product quality, reducing the occurrence of mold sticking, pulling and aluminum sticking, and reducing the use of release agents. It can also reduce the loss of the top rod and core caused by overheating of the mold temperature.
2. During the production process, the mold must be preheated to prevent the occurrence of cracks caused by sudden contact with hot metal liquid in cold molds. For more complex molds, spray lamps and liquefied gas can be used, while for better conditions, a mold temperature machine can be used. For simpler molds, slow injection preheating can be used.
3. If the mold is equipped with neutron control, it is important to note that the signal line between the die-casting machine and the mold must not have any joints. The reason is very clear. In daily production, it is difficult to avoid the signal line getting wet or the joint wrapping being easily broken, which can cause a short circuit with the machine tool. If the signal is incorrect, it may trigger an alarm and automatically stop the machine, delaying time. In severe cases, the signal may become chaotic and damage the mold. Causing unnecessary losses. Pay attention to waterproofing for the travel switch.
